My Spring Clean

I had a HUGE and i mean HUGE spring cleaning day last week,

I woke up, had my shower the sun was shining and i thought RIGHT it is a super day to get this yearly spring clean done and "Dusted"
Firstly i took down all of my curtains and popped them in the washing machine so i could get them hung out in the sun so they were ready to come in dry in the afternoon ;)

I then changed all of the bedding too, I washed all of the bed frames (I got quite a shock at how dusty the metal bed frame was) I used a detol spray then i finished up using glass cleaner the bed frame was shining clean by the time i was finished.

I then took out my little steamer to steam my mattress (before hoovering) this helps to remove any little horrible dust mites lingering!
I then popped my mattress out on top of my oil tank (which i made sure was clean first) the air had done my mattress the world of good.

I then started cleaning my bathroom, i just used my normal cleaning products for the bathroom, I cleaned the bathroom ceiling and skirting's with some detol antibacterial spray I also washed my bathroom blinds.

Next room was the kitchen, making sure all of the tops of my kitchen units/cupboards were clean the dust that gathers on the top of them is unreal.
I took everything out of the cupboards and washed all of the insides of them.
my kitchen blinds were also washed.
I removed my cooker/oven doors and washed them the same way i wash my windows (Water with a little window spray) I then took my scourer and a bowl of hot water and a little oven cleaner and scrubbed all of my cooker and shelves it was shining after i finished.

I use an old tooth brush and a spray with a little stainless steel cleaner to get right in to those gritty taps.

I then went to complete the rest of the rooms making sure all the skirting's and blinds were cleaned.

I have cream leather sofas I used Dove soap and hot water to scrub them they resulted in shining bright (Beautiful like new)

I then went and dusted every room in the house before hoovering every single room and cleaning the floors with lemon flash liquid (the smell of lemon during spring is gorgeous and fresh)

Below are my top tips for having a spring clean

1. Use different coloured cloths for each room/clean

2. Remember to wash your curtains/bedding first so they can get the good of the sunshine to dry ready to be used again in the evening

3. Remove all of your lampshades they gather LOTS of dust

4. Have a reasonable amount of breaks so you don't sicken yourself of cleaning

5. wash all of your doors but please don't use gritty cleaners like cif whitener the grit left afterwards is horrible.

6. It is best to use water only to wash your windows but you can use a little window cleaner if you prefer (sometimes i find i am left with lots of smears after using liquids)

7. When cleaning out your oven NEVER spray cleaning products in to the fan this will cause more smoke than ever next time you are using your oven and your food will taste yuck.

8. HAPPY CLEANING :)
